Industrial organisation A330

Industrial organisation and logistics of hangars for conversion of commercial aircraft to Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT)

Airbus Military | Technical Consultancy | 2007-ongoing

For this project the industrial organisation was carried for the processing centre of the A330 in-flight refuelling aircraft. For this, the Lean Manufacturing technique was used, based on a Life Cycle and Cost Analysis (LCCA). Also included was an analysis of storage requirements, along with the design of the store layout.
The flows making up the process were defined and optimised, both industrial and logistical, therefore generating the ideal flow, helping improve management of the parts.
In order to support this parts management process, a production order management process was defined, to be carried out by the production control department, along with the logistical management of parts from a new warehouse to the different conversion hangars, based on JIT supply.
